Applicants RJD Ltd and Gowling Trust have lodged an appeal against the County Council’s refusal to grant planning permission for a quarry north of Bengeo.

The appeal will be heard by The Planning Inspectorate, which is based in Bristol. There will be a public enquiry at County Hall opening on Tuesday 1st May 2018, where submissions will be heard from the applicant, the County Council and the Stop Bengeo Quarry campaign.

Following the public enquiry, a report and recommendation will be made to the Secretary Of State James Brokenshire, who will make the final decision, probably later in the year.
