We are busy preparing for the Bengeo Field Fun Day, which will take place in Bengeo Primary School this Sunday 10th July between 12-4 pm.
This fundraising event, organised by the Stop Bengeo Quarry campaign, will provide an opportunity to:
- Discuss the current status of the proposal review with the local MP, Councillors and campaigners, and find out what is happening before the Development Control Committee in September
- Enjoy live music from local performers
- Take part in one of many competitions: Bengeo Bake Off, Bengeo Field Photos, Children’s Fancy Dress, Children’s Sports Challenge
- Enjoy fun activities and stalls for children and adults: tombolas, bouncy castle, raffle tickets, mini jeeps, face painting, art activities, and plenty more
- BBQ & beer tent, icecream, and of course cakes.
A short documentary about the response of local people towards the proposed quarry will be filmed. All interviewees will be asked for permission to use the material.
We have some amazing prizes! Come with plenty of change and let’s have a (Bengeo) Field Day!
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1. Please donate sweets or jars of sweets, raffle prizes, bottles of wine, good quality toys – please leave them outside the school office and we will collect them daily.
2. Come and join us on Bengeo Field Fun Day this Sunday – why not participate in one of the competitions:
- the Bengeo bake off competition – adults and children should bring their cakes on the day; Cakes that taste great but don’t look completely stunning are all welcome
- the photos of Bengeo Field competition – adults and children should send their photos to photos@stopbegeoquarry.org.uk by this Saturday midday
- fancy dress competition – children should come in their costumes on the day
If you are able to help on the day or before please contact us.
Thank you for all your support. It is our one off opportunity to raise money for specialists’ expertise to help us make sure our objection to the quarry so close to the houses and the school succeeds.
Bengeo Field Fun Day is part of Bengeo Field Summer Challenge – children should bring their stamp cards or it’s not too late to start collecting the stamps this Sunday.
