Over 580 people already signed the petition calling to protect the footpath across Bengeo Field. Unfortunately, the landscape planning assessment focuses on the potential impact of the latest quarry application on the landscape from the roads surrounding the Field. We argue, that the quarry along the footpath will be unacceptable and will permanently damage the amenity of the bengeo Field. Look at the photo attached - taken by CAGE in 1990-ies in one of the quarry areas around Rickneys. What's next for the Stop Bengeo Quarry Campaign? Please sign the petition against the new quarry application just on the edge of Hertford If you missed the 2nd November deadline you can still send your email to Felicity Hart at the County Council. We have 2 weeks' extension and every email really counts. The new application is likely to be considered by HCC Development Control Committee on 20 Dec, if not in early 2018. And the public hearing into the appeal is scheduled for 1-4 May 2018. Thank you for being so amazing, responsive, supportive and proactive. Stop The Bengeo Quarry petition launched

The Hertfordshire Mercury are reporting the launch of our two petition on their website. "A petition has been lodged against plans for a huge mining operation. Almost 500 people have signed Angela Cox's Stop The Bengeo Quarry petition against RJD's application to dig up 2.6million tonnes of sand and gravel, since it was set up on Wednesday."
